Hello from Elwood

We are enjoying living in Elwood now after 20 years at the Hume and Hovell Cricket Ground in Strath Creek, walking and cycling along the foreshore, exploring the cafe delights on offer amongst many other delights.

Two recent highlights have been on the same program as Sir Richard Hadlee and Sir Ian Botham at the Rotary Club of Brighton's Sportsmanship Fundraising Night. My role was to open the evening with the cricketing masterpiece'How MacDougall Topped the Score” The International Fellowship of Cricketing Rotarians in Bendigo was held where there were players and partners from a number of countries from around the World in attendance.

And more recently the World Festival of Cricketing Rotarians was held in Melbourne which kept me very busy for a whole week.

Bookings keep coming from Retirement Villages and Probus Clubs in particular ( see Bookings tab) which keeps up plenty of momentum.

Anne and I have traveled a lot during the last couple of winter months over the length and breadth of our great country in our Avan Aspire caravan, reaching as far as the Kimberley coastline in a lovely catamaran with 16 other guests.

Truly breathtaking !!

Involvement with my Rotary E Club of Rotary Nomads is also bringing lots of joy and Fellowship wherever we go.

In response to requests I have now put together a Power Point program which tells the story of my journey of my love of cricket and how I came to create my own cricket ground in the Valley of a Thousand Hills in Strath Creek.

Don can be engaged to present this story by interested groups or Clubs.
